What to do if your Facebook Ad Account is Disabled

One of the last things you ever want to see in your Facebook ad account is the message: Ad Account Disabled for Policy Violation.

?

Facebook will suggest you take their e-learning Blueprint course, to better understand their Terms of Service, plus
they will give you the option to Request a Review of this Ad Account. Do this.

When you provide your response, assuming you haven’t blatantly broken the TOS, you need to remember that there is another person at the end of the line (probably) reading your response and deciding the future of your ad account.

  • Be Super Polite (I would really appreciate your help in reviewing this ad account)
  • Be Firm (we are aware of the Facebook policies and will continue to stay abreast of them by enrolling in the Business Blueprint course)
  • Be a Little Bit Apologetic (if we did violate the policies, it was inadvertently)

You may be declined on the first go. Request another review. Sometimes ad accounts are disabled for what appears to be a ‘bug’ and it’s reinstated straight away. You may need to be persistent and patient while this issue is underway, which could be a few days or more.

Facebook Business also has a chat feature, which you can use to directly chat with a FB rep to appeal the decision. If you need it and don’t know where to find it, let me know.

Sometimes, you will be able to set up a new ad account. If this is available to you, it’s often recommended to also use a different credit card in case this flags your account as a ‘problem’ account too.

Let me know if this was helpful to you!
